DESCRIPTION: In this position you will gain knowledge on how to perform and eventually carry out the full array of duties assigned to classes in the mechanic series, including maintenance and repair work for the City's public safety, public works, transit and other fleets, equipment, facilities and tools.
NOTE: This is a night shift position. The hired candidate will be assigned to work 3:00 PM - ay - Friday, and 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM every other Monday and will receive 5% shift differential pay.

The City of Sacramento Department of Public Works, Fleet Division, is recruiting for Equipment Serviceworker positions. This position performs semi-skilled work in servicing, maintaining, and repairing heavy equipment and automotive vehicles. Minimum experience required is one year of work experience in the general maintenance, servicing, and repair of vehicles and equipment and the equivalent to graduation from high school. Successful completion of the equivalent to one year of vocational education in the automotive, truck or heavy equipment service field may substitute for the required work experience. Candidates must possess a valid California Class C Driver License and must have the ability to obtain a valid California Class A Driver License during the probationary period.
The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and good problem-solving skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to manage priorities in a continuously evolving work environment and a strong work ethic with the desire to continually learn new skills within the automotive industry.
Recruitment period: March 6, 2022 – April 3, 2022
Hourly salary: $18.41 to 25.91 DOE
